Have you failed on your resolutions already?

It’s that time of year when most people have failed to keep their resolutions on track in some way or another. Have you failed on your resolutions already?

  • Have you fallen out of love with your goals for this year?
  • Have you already gone back to old habits and behaviours?
  • Are you feeling fed up, despondent and at a loss on how to move things forward?
  • Do you feel like a failure?

I’m seeing a lot of stuff on Facebook about how February is the new January! I find that quite depressing on a number of levels! Who needs another January?

It’s never too late to think about a fresh start. At the end of the day 1st January is only a date on a calendar!  There are still 330 days in the year to really make a difference.  Whether it is to get fit, lose weight, get your business really buzzing,

So here are a few tips to think about:

  • Where your resolutions really achievable? Or were they just too big and ambitious? I’m all for having great dreams, goals and aspirations, but being too vague about these can mean that they just become pipe dreams. Typical examples of these are ‘to lose weight’ or ‘to get fit’. What does that mean? Losing 1 pound means that you have achieved your goal! But is that really want to you meant? Try making your goal really specific.
  • What actions are you taking each and every day towards your resolutions? If you are working on your business – what are you doing each day to making it a success? Think about actions each and every day to work towards whatever you have set out in your specific goal.
  • Get people engaged in what you are trying to do. Our loved ones can be our greatest asset but also our greatest hinderance. Talk to them, get them on board with what you are doing and why, and get them to agree on how they can help.  This might be as simple and giving you some time and space to do it. It might be about arranging treats for when you have taken action towards your goals! Get people on your team to help you – this is not a solo effort!

It is never too late. Tomorrow can be a fresh start – what are you going to do to get back on track?
